Marrieds Coordinator Watoto Child Care Ministries

Key Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)
1. Coordinate Marrieds Cells
• Mobilise and encourage married people to join cells and interact with other couples to build, strong, and happy marriages.
• Equip and empower married cell leaders and coordinators with the necessary relational, counselling, mentoring and leadership skills to effectively meet the needs of the couples in the cells.
In liaison with the Team leader prepare monthly marrieds cell agenda.
• Support Campus pastors to facilitate specialised events for married at their Campus.
• Organize and facilitate specialised platforms to support Parents, Young couples and couples in crisis. Plan for special events and platforms that will motivate and inspire married couples to stay happy in love and connected to God e.g., Couples Dinners, Retreats, Marriage Encounter etc
Provide quarterly evaluation feedback to Team leader on presenting needs and challenges that need to be addressed.
• Submit monthly reports to the Team leader on matters handled ie individuals and couples counselled and work plan implementation.

2. Counselling Support
• Provide Biblical and timely counselling services to married couples, couples intending to wed, family members and individuals.
Co-ordinate and maintain a sufficient team of marriage counsellor volunteers to provide counselling services online or in-person to all individuals.
• Work in collaboration with the Team leader and Campuses marrieds coordinators to plan for training of materials cell leaders, counsellors and marriage mentors.
• Support the efficient and timely running of the premarital counselling classes and updating materials used in the classes.
• Stay UpToDate with counselling good practices, procedures, emerging trends and ensure that professional standards are adhered to.

3. Leadership, Development and Training
• In Liaison with the Team leader, design strategic interventions to enable effective counselling support to families in the congregation.
Support the Team leader to setup family programs that train and inspire the married couples to build strong and healthy families in the way of the Lord.
• Obtain and develop relevant Marriage enrichment resources that will inspire and prepare married couples to build strong families and encourage the singles to wholesome living.
• Obtain and develop programs that equip parents with effective parenting skills so they can raise God fearing children and leaders of tomorrow.
• Facilitate in-house staff counselling training for specific areas as need arises.
Participate in the preparation of the department’s budget as per set guidelines.
• Ensure that all raised issues are addressed in a professional and timely manner in accordance with Watoto Ministries and procedures.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience.
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, Community Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, Psychology, or any related field from a recognized and legitimate institution.
• A master’s in counselling is an added advantage, especially in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy. A minimum of three years’ working in experience in a supervisory role in a reputable organization is needed and Computer literacy is needed.
• A Born-Again Christian, who is legally wedded in Church for 5 years or more and passionate about Family and Marriage.
• Membership with the Uganda Counselling Association is mandatory.
Ability to work at high standard and provide consistent excellent service at all times.
• Leadership skills and ability to effectively work with a team and inspire them to achieve desired goals and maximum.
• A team player, result oriented, self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision.
