Job Summary: The M&E Assistant will support the Regional MEL Officers in design, implementation and review of the project’s monitoring and evaluation interventions, collection of primary data from the field and in putting into the reporting systems, addressing the M&E capacity gaps identified, track performance and inform programming through the Regional MEL officer

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide monitoring and evaluation capacity building, train district and community level implementing staff on indicators, data collection tools and processes, and reporting.
  • Contribute to quarterly & annual report compilation that enables information usage for program management decision making.
  • Prepare targets and track performance at PSW, Social worker, CBT, DBT, SINOVUYO facilitators and ECD facilitators level.
  • Monitor and track progress against set sub county level targets and baselines and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the reporting systems.
  • Prepare quantitative data and write narrative reports as required.
  • Participate in sub-county and facility performance monitoring initiatives and routine data use activities to continuously guide implementation of OVC project activities.
  • Work with health facility teams to conduct regular data quality assessments, and to implement and document data quality improvement activities related to OVC work.
  • Support facility data teams to compile and submit accurate OVC and programmatic reports according to the set project, donor and Ministry of Health reporting timelines.
  • Ensure timely reporting of core, custom indicators and cross cutting indicators periodically as required.
  • Ensure that all district-based service providers report timely and accurately in the OVCMIS system.
  • Support OVC case management and beneficiary assessments to track progress towards graduation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Social science or related field with a computing bias.
  • At least two (2) years of professional and or analytical work experience in monitoring and evaluation preferred.
  • Knowledge of PEPFAR’s OVC M&E and Results Framework and up-to-date knowledge of PEPFAR indicators.
  • Good understanding of PEPFAR/MOH/MGLSD reporting requirements, expectations and tools.
