dfcu Bank is a fast-growing Bank in Uganda offering a wide range of financial solutions to its chosen market segments. We are seeking to recruit for the position of Manager- Applications & Channels in the Operations (COO) Domain to support our expansion strategy.

REPORTING TO:
Senior Manager- Business Systems & Channels

JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Senior Manager- Business Systems & Channels, the role holder is responsible for leading the team that provides expert support to Production environment Business applications. This includes efficient and secure operation of all Business applications plus working with approved vendors and consultants/service partners. The role is also to ensure specification and documentation of operational requirements, full acceptance testing of proposed changes, implementation of accepted changes, full ownership of the Business Applications UAT test environments, as well as related High availability and Disaster recovery setup.

LOCATION: Kampala

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Lead and manage a team of Applications and Implementations management.
• Monitor and oversee the availability of Business Applications and Continuity.
• Provide effective technical BAU support for core Business applications.
• Provide requisite technical advisory & support for deployment and management of the corporate business systems.
• Capacity management of Production Environment Business Applications and documentation of all related operating instructions.
Enforce security of business data within systems and oversee change control measures in any customizations.
• Solving complex analytical Business Application challenges.
• Provide expert application support to core Business applications.
• Supervise and enforce efficient and secured operation of all Business applications.
• Participate in delivery of core applications training.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or other numerical biased field from a reputable university or college.
• Certification in database management preferred.
• Finacle Core Banking Systems Training.
• 3 – 5 years technical experience supporting various Business Applications systems in medium to large organizations.
• Advanced hands-on Banking Applications Support skills.
Advanced hands-on Systems interface support skills.
• Wide knowledge of and advanced skills in computer hardware and software programs of diverse functionality. Including but not limited to, communications systems, desktop applications, and network administration programs.
• Significant experience in supporting databases (preferably Oracle, postgresssql and/or Microsoft SQL).
• Application development skills.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence; speak clearly to third parties and employees.
• Able and willing to solve complex analytical challenges, independently analyze information; and make recommendations based on analysis.
• Self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt and work co-operatively and effectively in different situations and teams to carry out assigned tasks.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude under stress conditions.
• Disposition to share knowledge fully and willingly with other employees in the interest of the organization.
