Assistant Accountant Vision Group

Description of purpose
To handle all finance related tasks at the bureau with a high degree of integrity and ensure safe custody of company resources.

Key Result Areas:
1. Receive and receipt cash and cheques/ drafts from clients to recognize revenue, reduce indebtedness by clients and account for all collections.
2. Pay out petty cash/imprest for vouchers that are authorized by Station Manager/ News Editor in order to facilitate staff at the bureau to do their work and buy office material.
3. Issue orders for walk in clients in the absence of sales executives; receipt the payments and type out the advert.
4. Issue tax invoices to clients who bring in business e.g. announcements, adverts, talk shows in order to facilitate timely payments by the clients.
5. Collect payments from the field from clients to aide in debt collection.
6. Make calls and remind clients of payments in order to ensure that the clients pay up for the announcements made.
7. Monitor asset movement in the bureau in order to keep track of office assets and keep record of the operational status or condition of the assets
8. Receive announcements, receipt them, follow up to ensure that they are aired and file them once they expire (Radio Ads) in order to track revenue for the company and for further reference.

Qualification and Experience:
1. A diploma in Business Studies from a recognized University.
2. 3-4 years’ work experience in a busy environment.
3. Administration competencies are an added advantage.

Technical Competences:
1. Computer literate with sound knowledge of Ms. Word, Excel and any accounting package.
2. Good analytical skills.
3. Ability to multi task and deliver in a tight deadline driven environment.
5. Fluency in English, Runyoro, Rutooro and Rugungu.
6. Behavioral Competences:
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. High sense of integrity.
9. Detail oriented.
10. Organized and timely.
