Health and Safety Officer Lafab Solutions

We are looking for a Health and Safety Officer with a Diploma in Engineering and a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment across all aspects of our operations. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures for the project site.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks and develop measures to mitigate them.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Identify training needs and develop and deliver health and safety training programs for staff and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents and accidents and produce reports with recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate health and safety considerations into project planning and decision-making.
• Produce regular reports to management on health and safety performance.
• Develop emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
• Ensure that all health and safety equipment and supplies are in good working condition and are available to staff when needed.

Requirements:
• A Diploma in Engineering plus a Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a Health and Safety Officer in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, policies and standards.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to identify potential hazards and risks and develop measures to mitigate them.
• Experience in conducting health and safety inspections and audits and producing reports on health and safety performance.
• Familiarity with health and safety training and education.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to project sites as needed.
