Drivers x3 National Union of Women with Disabilities of Uganda (NUWODU)

Purpose of the job
The purpose of the driver is to drive NUWODU Staff and Board of Directors to field activities and ensure proper maintenance of the organization’s vehicles.

Responsibilities and duties

• Advice NUWODU on issues concerning vehicle registration, maintenance, and repair.
• Participate in the vehicle purchase and advice NUWODU on the best models and types of vehicles to procure.
• Ensure that NUWODU vehicles are in good running condition and clean.
• Transport NUWODU staff and Board of Directors to fulfil NUWODU duties.
• Ensure security of the vehicles.
• Transport project equipment, materials, supplies, and documents to project sites.
• Keep records of mileage covered and maintain the vehicle logbook. Drive staff while on official duty
• Guide NUWODU staff and Board of Directors and other drivers on issues concerning road safety and traffic.
• Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Program Officer and Executive Secretary.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving record for at least 5 years. Ability to drive for extended periods.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Excellent navigational skills.”
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities especially women.
• Experience in NGO work and knowledge of the local language is an added advantage.
