Job Summary:   The Regional Consortium Associate (RCA) will manage a portfolio of projects/programmes, partners, networks/coalitions, andrelated activities and contribute to further refining SIHA’s strategy and its effective implementation. The ‘RCA’ will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of SIHA Consortium Projects and working acrosscountries to provide support to regional staff and partners in the implementation of programmes.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

In collaboration with SIHA staff and under the supervision of the Regional Consortium Coordinator, the ‘RCA’ will:

  • Work with Consortium members and SIHA staff at the regional offices to ensure high-quality implementation of activities, compliance with donor and consortium rules, and accountability to beneficiaries.
  • Support in ensuring effective coordination among finance/support teams across partners, donors, and other stakeholders to promote the achievement of consortium objectives. This includes processing budget requests and submitting accountabilities, amongst others.
  • Work in collaboration with Consortium partners and SIHA regional staff to support the development of work plans, financial and narrative reports, working papers, terms of reference, and presentations.
  • Support in initiating research, articles, or any other documents to profile and popularize program outcomes and ensure the high quality of the outputs.
  • Support the RCC in providing regular updates to the management committee on the status of programme implementation and make recommendations based on their findings.
  • Support the management and maintenance of blogs for the consortiums and coordinate with partners for regular updates.
  • Work closely with the Regional Advocacy and Communications team to plan and support the implementation of advocacy and communication activities.
  • Organize periodic meetings with consortium partners and other program staff to discuss and track program progress against plan, record, and follow up on action points.
  • Provides administrative and logistical support as required for programme coordination.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to SIHA policies, guidance, and procedures.
  • Provide external representation on behalf of SIHA and the consortium.
  • May be assigned projects outside the consortium project and or any other work assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant should hold a graduate degree focusing on International Human Rights, Law, Gender studies, International Relations, Humanitarian Aid, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Work experiences of at least 3-4 years on women’s rights, gender equality advocacy, and coordination.
  • Understanding of the current Horn of Africa context, particularly in reference to challenges facing women and girls in terms of access to justice, human security, upholding of human rights, and social and economic well-being.
  • Sense of creativity and interest in exploring the links between grassroots activists (local scale) and broader human and women’s rights initiatives (international/global scale), with an ability to gauge how best the former can inform and guide the latter.
  • Familiarity with regional and international human rights advocacy platforms.
  • Firm experience and knowledge of project/program management, and critical analysis of program and advocacy outcomes to inform further engagement.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
  • A strong sense of initiative and ability to manage a significant workload.
