Job: Medical Coordinator Support

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Mapping and regular updates of medical/ technical stakeholders and developing a contact list
Developing and updating factsheet on key medical thematic for MSF
Assessing and updating health clinics and facilities and specialists in Kampala
• Closely monitor epidemiological and refugee movement trends in the country through reports, sitreps, meetings, and databases, analyse data and prepare briefs/ sitreps
When delegated, represent the mission in MoH, partners and stakeholder meetings/forums
• Participating in the technical working group meetings at the national level, summarize and sharing the meeting minutes and resolutions
• Monitoring patient referrals in Kasese and ensuring the referral database is up to date
• Working closely with the biomed technicians to ensure all users are trained on using and maintaining biomed equipment.
• Setting up the mission physical and SharePoint medical library and ensuring regular updates and organization
• Working closely with the project data manager to ensure proper data management and analysis from the projects as well as preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports·
• Ensuring proper archiving of medical data in the Kampala archives container.
• Ensuring the collection of SGBV files from the field and ensuring organization and dispatch to Paris.
• Following and supporting the field to implement new patient management protocols that MSF/MoH has validated
• Coaching, training and motivating the medical teams in the mission to align to quality patient standards and protocols
• Developing/collecting training materials for Sickle Cell Disease, plan and conduct the training in the Kasese project.
• Being part of the exploratory mission team as the medical focal point
• Actively monitoring the medical and humanitarian situation in the country through existing surveillance systems, exploratory missions, and the use of health information systems and providing regular medical and humanitarian situation reports
• Detaching as interim Medical Activity Manager to emergency projects while the mission is setting up a response team structure
• May be requested by Medco to replace field doctors or Medical Activity Manager, Medical Team leader

Education: Degree in Medicine/Surgery. With valid annual practicing license. Must be duly registered with the Uganda Medical & Dental Practitioners Council
Experience: Minimum 2 years’ Clinical experience as a general practitioner. Working in adolescent health, SCD, SGBV, TB, HIV and mental health activities is an added advantage-
• Experience as a Clinical Team Leader
• Experience in Networking and engagement with MoH and NGO’s
• Experience in MSF or other NGO’s is a plus

Languages: Excellent command of English and control of local languages
Knowledge: Essential Computer literacy (Word, Excel & Internet) Emergency preparedness and response
