Mpewu Micro Finance is a micro-finance institution established in 2015. We are licensed and regulated by Uganda Micro-finance Regulatory Authority. We offer loans and other financial services. We also have an inclusive primary school. We are located in Mpigi.

 

Job Summary:   The Finance Supervisor will monitor and control portfolio asset quality in the Institution and to offer support in order to sustain a good book in liaison with the head office and the respective branch teams while ascertaining that the institutions interests are fully secured through compliance to the credit policy and UMRA guidelines.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Mpewu Micro Finance

  • Safe guard organization resources against loss by following rules and regulations put in place by the organization to be in line with Mpewu’s vision, mission, and Values.
  • Work closely with staff to set targets for branches on a monthly basis and ensure a portfolio at risk rate (PAR) not exceeding 1% for Group Lending and not exceeding 3% for individual lending at all times.
  • Carry out day-to-day monitoring of client’s loan performance in line with agreed terms and conditions of the loan and per set credit policy and procedures at MPEWU to guarantee a qualitative loan portfolio.
  • Evaluate the performance of the branch loan portfolio and assist in generation of weekly and monthly reports on quality, growth, disbursements, and projected business for the coming week and spot checks in line with Mpewu’s policies for guidance to the Credit Supervisor
  • Ensuring proper and timely entry and classification of transactions as assets, liabilities, income and expenses, and must check on all entries entered in the system; to ascertain their genuineness, accuracy.
  • Assist in Preparing of monthly and yearly reports of all income and Expenditure results, trial balance extraction, bank reconciliation and income statements;
  • Budgetary control i.e., preparing short-, medium- and long-term budgets as a basic tool for defining company’s periodic goals and objectives and against which results shall be compared
  • Ensuring that all the loan disbursements are properly documented, posted, monitored in terms of quality and accuracy and correctly reported on agreed basis.

The School

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Ensuring proper and timely entry and classification of transactions as assets, liabilities, income and expenses, and must check on all entries entered in the system; to ascertain their genuineness and accuracy.
  • Monitoring debt collection and ensuring that all cash received at the school is banked and reconciled.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Or Business Administration.
  • One year of experience in the accounting field preferably with Microfinance field.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, planning and organizing ability.
  • Has excellent business acumen.
  • Knowledge of the full MS Office suite
