Program Coordinator Solidarity Uganda

Solidarity Uganda is a collective of dedicated trainers and consultants committed to fostering civil resistance and driving social change. Our goal is to cultivate a resilient culture of resistance against oppression, shaping a new future for Uganda. We operate on the pillars of inspiration, education, and action, recognizing that without inspiration, individuals may remain passive, without education, they may resort to ineffective methods (such as violence), and without action, progress stalls.

PROGRAM COORDINATOR, CENTRAL REGION

We are currently in search of a dynamic and passionate Program Coordinator who will serve as a cornerstone in bolstering activists on their journey toward collective empowerment and societal metamorphosis. This pivotal role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including community organizing, facilitating training sessions, and orchestrating impactful campaigns.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Help community organizers and central allies develop unique and cost-effective training systems, community organizing networks, and campaigns.
• oversight to affiliated chapters within the region.
Facilitate at least one training per month on movement-building and community-organizing skills
• Conduct at least five one-on-one coaching sessions (by phone or in person) for Solidarity Uganda trainees and partners per week and provide the team with any useful training materials and expertise.
Make at least one training visit to an allied community each month.
• Handle all matters relating to community organizing and building people power throughout the coordinator’s region.
• Submit monthly reports, concept notes, and accountabilities in a timely manner.
• Organize activists, organizers, and change agents to act accordingly to enhance social justice and social change in any community.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Experience in community organizing and mobilization.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social work, Public administration or a related field is an added advantage.
• Self-driven/motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Should be result-oriented.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral presentation skills

Timeline:
• Three-month probationary period is paid, with contracts further negotiated thereafter.
