The Women’s International Peace Centre, formerly known as Isis-WICCE, is a feminist organization founded in 1974 and based in Kampala, Uganda. Our mission is to ignite women’s leadership, amplify their voices, and deepen their impact in recreating peace through research, advocacy, holistic healing, and skills/movement building.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Senior Finance Officer, the Administrative Assistant will handle front desk management, data and records management, organize meetings, manage stores, and provide logistical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the front desk and handle visitor inquiries.
  • Maintain and manage records and data.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings.
  • Manage office supplies and inventory.
  • Provide logistical support for office operations and events.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Social Sciences, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certificate in Administrative Law is an added advantage.
  • At least three years of experience as an Administrative Assistant in a reputable organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Professional communication skills, both in person and over the phone/email.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact courteously and effectively with clients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Responsive and proactive in addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Proficient computer skills including word processing (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) and Zoom for online meetings.
