Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Officer – Procurement is responsible for coordinating the procurement function at the country office, ensuring timely servicing of requests for goods and services in accordance with IRC standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement:
- Review and process Purchase Requisitions/Item Forecasts.
- Ensure full documentation and traceability of procurements.
- Issue RFQs, RFPs, and other sourcing tools to vendors.
- Coordinate deliveries with suppliers and requesters.
- Participate in vendor performance reviews and market surveys.
- Maintain a database of reliable suppliers.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and submit monthly activity and commitment status reports.
- Systems Compliance and Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with IRC policies and procedures.
- Report any violations of IRC’s Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Code of Conduct.
- Confidentiality:
- Maintain confidentiality of IRC practices and business.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requirements:
- University degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Financial Accounting, Logistics, or related field (CIPS qualification is an advantage).
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- At least 3 years’ experience in supply chain management in a multicultural environment.
- Good communication and staff management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with procurement ERP systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain productive under pressure.
- Knowledge of procurement principles and contract management.
- Commitment to IRC’s aims and standards of professional conduct.
