Job Overview:
The Project Officer will oversee comprehensive clinical management of clients and collaborate with the Project Coordinator, project team, and the Ministry of Health (MOH) to effectively implement project activities. The role involves ensuring optimal use of resources to meet project objectives, timely service delivery, and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical management, including assessments for adverse events, at both health facilities and in the community.
- Participate in high-quality implementation research.
- Collaborate with the project management team to plan, budget, and execute project activities.
- Work with the MOH to organize regional inception meetings.
- Collaborate with MOH and haematology specialists to mentor health workers and community health workers on sickle cell disease (SCD) sensitization and management.
- Engage in supportive supervision and training on SCD at health facility and community levels.
- Attend technical working group meetings and other stakeholder engagements for SCD.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting, data dissemination, and data utilization to improve program outcomes.
- Coordinate logistics for the implementation of planned activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: MBChB or a related bachelor’s degree in medicine.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
