CNOOC International is one of the largest oil and gas companies in Uganda’s energy sector and owns one-third interests in each of Exploration Areas (EA) EA1/1A, EA2 and Kingfisher. Our partners are Total E&P Uganda (33.3%) and Tullow Oil (33.3%). CNOOC International operates the Kingfisher production license.
Job Summary: Responsible for oil production technology and oil & water wells management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in drilling and completion designs review and make recommendations for efficient operations and production.
- Provide technical support to on-site production, analyze and solve oil & water wells problems, implement solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Introduce and apply new technologies related to oil production to achieve high production efficiency and quality.
- Improve oil production technology and manage oil & water wells related capital expenditures.
- Work on oil & water wells integrity programs and prepare budgets for wells operations, including monitoring expenses and functionality.
- Organize wells workover and operations.
- Collect wells information and prepare operational and technical reports.
- Supervise projects, track costs, schedule various technical projects, and ensure contractor compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Supervise and train on-site operations personnel to ensure teamwork and meet company objectives.
- Collaborate with partners and service contractors on wells operation matters.
- Provide advice for improvement of regulations and rules on operation management and implementation.
- Manage production-related contractors.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling and Completion, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including 1 year of on-site field experience.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of exploration, development, production, drilling, and completion.
- Knowledge of cost control and laws.
- Understanding of petroleum contracts, reservoir, geology, and oil production.
