Summary Of The Assignment
BRIGHT seeks the services of the consultant to develop simple-to-use gender-sensitive training content tailored towards training VVCs in governance, advocacy and lobbying. The consultant will conduct training in the three regions of the project to maximize time efficiency. The activity will be conducted concurrently in the 3 regions. Therefore, the consultant should have a team spread in the 3 regions at the same time.
Responsibilities
- Train a total of 70 BRIGHT staff (47 FEWs, 12 field officers and 11 component leads and managers) in lobbying, advocacy and governance in Elgon, Kigezi and Rwenzori regions;
- Develop tools and key messages for training VVCs/farmers by BRIGHT staff.
Requirements
- Have previous experience in lobbying, advocacy and governance;
- Knowledge and experience of the Uganda Local Government Planning Cycle.
Deliverables for the consultant
- Develop simple-to-use gender-sensitive training content tailored towards training farmer groups in governance, advocacy and lobbying;
- Create tools and key messages for training VVCs/farmers by BRIGHT staff developed.
Duration
The contract assignment is anticipated to be effective from the 2nd May 2025 till the 9th May 2025, unless amended in writing and agreed upon by both Parties. However, the training is expected to take 2 days per region.
Reporting and Work Relationships
The consultant will report to the Project Manager and work closely with the IFDC as well as other project technical staff.
Location
The consultant will be responsible for supporting the BRIGHT project in all its regional offices (Rwenzori, Elgon and Kigezi).

About Program/Project
Building Resilience and Inclusive Growth of Highland farming systems for rural Transformation (BRIGHT) is a four-year project, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) through the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Dutch development policy. The project is being implemented by IFDC, in collaboration with Agriterra, the Uganda Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO), district local governments, and private sector actors.
