JOB DETAILS:

• Role: Promotes a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety measures.
• Key Responsibilities:
  1. Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring workplace activities adhere to health and safety regulations and standards.
  2. Risk Assessment: Conducting thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  3. Policy Development: Developing, implementing, and reviewing health and safety policies.
  4. Training Programs: Organizing training on safety topics (emergency procedures, equipment use, hazard recognition, toolbox talks, first aid drills).
  5. Incident Investigation: Investigating accidents or near misses, determining root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
  6. Safety Audits: Conducting inspections, maintaining records (Incident, Job Safety Analysis, Work Register forms), and closing non-conformities.
  7. Communication: Relaying safety information to staff and preparing safety performance reports for management.

• Educational Background and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications like Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or NEBOSH certification are preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Analytical, communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
