Job Summary: The Manager will be responsible for the sales and commercial support for fixed infrastructure wholesale for. He/she will cater to internal customers (MTN Group OpCos) and external customers (3rd parties, e.g. global carriers, ISPs, MNOs and digital players). The role will develop and define initiatives to assist in strategic positioning of connectivity services to maximise revenues from MTN Uganda fixed network capacity and connectivity, as well as other assets (e.g. satellite). The Key Account Manager, will drive sales in a range of fixed connectivity products and services, including Fiber capacity and Infrastructure

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Personally contacts and secures new business accounts in the medium business market with high volume of prospecting including phone, email, and in person activities
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with prospects, referral partners, and current customers including managing the onboarding processes needed to ensure the customer can purchase MTN products
  • Coordinates the “Sales” effort with Sales Operations, Network team and the entire Value chain to ensure customer opportunities and potential issues are worked to a successful outcome
  • Demonstrates product knowledge and services to potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited for their needs
  • Creates and manages an Account Coverage Plan for prospecting and existing customers to ensure achieving Monthly, Quarterly and Annual MRC sales targets
  • Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential
  • Use Customer Relationship Management (Salesforce), documents account activities and important account data to ensure the Sales team has access to account and contact information
  • Keeps an up-to-date Opportunity forecast for monthly, quarterly, and annual sales opportunities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in (Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or Commerce and or related discipline)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • 2+ years sales-related experience within the telecommunication space, experience in the sales environment is an added advantage
