As a Supply Chain Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of products from suppliers to warehouse and ultimately to our customers across Uganda and the region. You will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, coordinating procurement and logistics, and ensuring that all supply chain processes run efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position requires strong coordination skills, accuracy in data handling, proactive communication, and a commitment to ethical standards and operational excellence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Order Management & Inventory Control: Coordinate supplier orders based on approved forecasts and stock movement. Monitor goods in transit and ensure timely delivery to maintain optimal stock levels across the business.
- Forecasting Support and Inventory Reporting &: Generate and share regular reports on inventory status, order tracking, and goods movement. Support demand planning by providing data on Demand Plan Accuracy (DPA), sales trends, and stock availability.
- Cross-Functional & External Coordination: Collaborate with sales, warehouse, finance, and business unit teams to align procurement and inventory decisions. Coordinate with external partners including suppliers, clearing agents, and regulatory authorities such as National Drug Authority (NDA), Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), and UNBS to ensure timely and compliant inbound deliveries.
- Procurement & Logistics Optimization: Execute end-to-end procurement processes while consolidating orders for cost savings. Coordinate inbound logistics, maintain up-to-date records (purchase orders, GRNs, delivery notes), and follow up on supplier performance and documentation.
- Compliance & Process Integrity: Ensure full adherence to departmental governance framework, company SOPs, procurement policies, and ethical standards. Comply with all relevant Ugandan regulations and support internal audits or quality assurance processes as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Diploma and/or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Logistics, or Business.
- A professional certification such as CIPS, KISM, or APICS is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supply chain or procurement role, preferably in the pharmaceutical, FMCG, or medical distribution sectors.
- Proficient in supply chain software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, MS Excel, inventory tracking tools).
- Sound knowledge of Kenyan import regulations, tax procedures, and supplier compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity and commitment to upholding company values and compliance standards.
- Experience in healthcare operations is a plus!
