Job Summary:  The Universal Banker will improve service delivery, eliminate frauds and forgeries by adhering to operational procedures, processes and policies while being socially responsible.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellent customer service through operational effectiveness and acceptable turnaround time on all transactions.
  • Sort, arrange and tick all general ledger vouchers against relevant prints/ report.
  • Passing raising vouchers to relevant accounts/ as appropriate
  • Reconcile, regularize departmental accounts, and summarize all income accounts daily and keep records.
  • Handle, establish and process cheques, transfers, and pin mailers.
  • Handle payments of Branch utility bills and expenses by debiting relevant expenses accounts as appropriate.
  • Provide front line support in ensuring regular service/ maintenance of premises/machine and equipment as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all transaction records are kept and / or mailed in accordance with the Bank procedures.
  • Report suspicious transactions as per Money Laundering control frameworks.
  • Ensure stationery is adequate and keep the stationery room in good order, monitor branch assets register.
  • Any other official duties that may be circumstantially allocated

Daily Responsibilities

  • Reduce operational costs through cost control and minimization of losses through fraud and forgeries.
  • Transaction posting, Mobi, Pin Mailer management and account opening support.
  • Account management (Dormant and inactive, zero balance and overdrawn account management)
  • Acquire new business through marketing.
  • Adhere to processes and procedures.
  • Maintain existing bank utilities/ facilities/assets in good and functioning condition.
