Fraud Analyst, Uganda Sun King

The Fraud Analyst will work in the Corporate Risk department of Greenlight Planet, Uganda and will be reporting to the Credit Process Manager – Uganda. You will be working closely with the Regional Collections Manager “RCM”. You will also work closely with the entire Easy buy team by following on credit risk and fraud investigation of our Pay-As-You-Go products.

The team you would join:
Our Global team is primarily responsible for merging quantitative insights and field-based qualitative insights, asking questions, and designing experiments to improve the quality of our PAYG solar energy loan portfolio. The team has 20 team members and is growing.

What you would be expected to do:
• Investigate and collect information on fraud-related activities(eg, tampering, identity theft, Impersonation, Scammers) within the business.
• Liaise with different law enforcement agents to close reported fraud, tampering or any case.
• Designs and implements projects to prevent fraud related activities within the company and recover losses.
• Manage and prioritize a large and varied caseload effectively and efficiently to achieve positive results.
• Liaise with the Field Team/ Call center to identify fraudulent cases and follow them up for closure.
• Serve as a witness in legal cases that arise in the field on behalf of the company.
• Prepare regular reports from the field on fraud-related activities and escalate.
• Educate staff on fraud and its impact on the business.
• Any other duty that may be assigned.

You might be a strong candidate if you;
1. Posess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field of Criminal justice/Law/Criminology/Security studies and Risk Management.
2. Have atleast 3 years of professional experience in an organisation where you developed skills in the following;
• excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Good understanding of relevant legislations such as The Law of Contract Act and the Criminal Procedure Act
• Negotiation skills
• Interviewing and Interrogation
• Data Analysis & report writting
• 3. Possess strong interpersonal skills.
• 4. Have the ability to identify any suspicious activity that includes fraud threats and infringement attempts in time.
• 5. Have the ability to navigate stressful situations.
• 6. Have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• 7. Possess a High level of integrity and confidentiality
• 8. Are a Critical Thinker; very strong ability to structure problems and drive towards solutions even in ambiguous situation.
• 9. Have an entrepreneurial spirit: Owning one’s tasks and being able to work independently and figure things out.
• 10. Are value-driven; driven by the social mission to provide clean energy and employment to rural communities.
