Relationship Manager, Business Banking (Fresher Bank Job) – NCBA Bank Uganda

Job Description: NCBA Bank Uganda is seeking a Relationship Manager for Business Banking to achieve business growth by prospecting and recruiting new business customers. The role involves providing quality relationship management to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and generation of additional business through cross-sell opportunities.

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities):

Financial (50%):

  • Responsible for growing the Business Banking portfolio to achieve set targets for portfolio growth, income, and quality.
  • Prospect and recruit new Business banking customers, understanding their needs and recommending appropriate products/services.
  • Achieve set monthly and annual Business banking targets for all products.
  • Develop existing Business Banking relationships and increase share of wallet by cross-selling all banking products.
  • Monitor market conditions and trends and provide feedback to management.
  • Assist in identifying customer needs not met by existing products/services and implementing new ones.
  • Manage and monitor the Business asset portfolio to keep Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) within set targets.

Internal Business Processes (20%):

  • Ensure all documentation and transactions comply with anti-money laundering and KYC requirements.
  • Manage risk of existing and new portfolio/customers to maintain a non-impaired asset and KYC compliant liability book.
  • Maintain customer accounts and achieve a minimum of ‘Satisfactory/Acceptable’ audit rating.
  • Prepare and submit reports to relevant stakeholders within agreed timelines.

Customer (20%):

  • Use CRM system effectively to manage customer queries, complaints, and correspondence.
  • Utilize Credit Quest (CQ) system to ensure timely processing of customer credit.
  • Work closely with the Credit analysis team to structure appropriate customer deals and offer the best solutions.

Learning and Growth (10%):

  • Conduct periodic trainings on Business banking products & services.
  • Proactively manage own learning and development.
  • Build and maintain teamwork and participate in resource planning.

Ideal Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field.
  • Professional Qualification will be an added advantage.
  • 4-5 years’ experience in Business banking, customer service, and relationship management.
