Compensation and Benefits Specialist IDI

To develop and implement strategies for compensation, reward and human resource
management information systems that enable timely and accurate processing of compensation
and benefit processes as well as fast and accurate retrieval of human resource information.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop an annual work plan for the compensation, reward and HRMIS function that feed into the overall Human Resource annual work plan in line with the overall HR planning cycle.
• Develop and monitor the implementation of compensation and HRMIS guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) that enable accurate processing of salary as well as accurate storage and fast retrieval of information across all HR functions
• Manage the HR Management Information System and ensure timely input of data and fast retrieval of information.
• Timely preparation of an accurate monthly staff payroll and ensure that the final payroll is submitted to the Accounts section for review in line with IDI’s policies and procedures.
• Accurately prepare and process the statutory deductions (Taxes) and any other deductions off staff payroll and ensure that all the files are submitted to the Accounts section for review in line with IDI’s policies and procedures i.e PAYE, NSSF, LST, Provident Fund.
• Prepare and manage the IDI’s Health and GPA insurance schemes ensuring that all staff are enrolled and that service providers respond to staff needs and are compliant with the terms and conditions as stipulated in the insurance policies.
• Prepare and submit accurate financial reconciliations for both medical insurance and GPA expenses and ensure that all the necessary financial recoveries are made for both individual staff (through the payroll) and for Projects.
• Attend to staff issues with regard to compensation and benefits including issues with the service providers and provide remedial action as soon as possible.
• Conduct trainings and sensitisations to staff with regards to compensation and benefits policies and procedures and ensure that all staff are aware of their rights and privileges as far as compensation and reward issues are concerned.
• Develop and provide quarterly reports regarding the compensation and benefits environment in IDI to inform decision making.

Person Specifications
• Background in Social Sciences with a Post Graduate qualification in Human Resource Management is highly preferred or an advanced qualification in Human Resource Management, Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, Business Psychology, or any other field related to compensation & benefits management with experience in payroll management (salaries and Provident Fund in a large organisation).
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• At least 5 years’ proven experience in managing HR Information Systems including
• payroll management, processing taxes and managing staff Health and Group Personal Accident (GPA) insurance.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision is an added advantage
• Ability to keep and maintain confidentiality of data and departmental security at all
• times.
• A good listener with empathy and compassion
