Pediatrician Sebbi Hospital

Sebbi Hospital Ltd is a Private Healthcare Centre located in Central Region of Uganda, Nansana Municipality, 5km along Hoima Road, Wakiso District. It commenced operations as a Medical Centre and upgraded to a hospital status to serve the increasing population and demand for variety of specialized healthcare services. Sebbi Hospital is
currently searching for a qualified candidates to fill the position of a Pediatrician as per the details below:

Job Summary:
• The specialist shall be expected to work on station for at least 5days of the week, not less than 8 hours of the day. Duty coverage shall include both the outpatient clinic, ward admitted patients including nursery and NICU, review of newborns and receiving babies in theater when required. The officer shall as well support other assigned duties including
• conducting CMEs and participating in developing and implementation of management protocols. Service shall be delivered as a team including fellow pediatricians and hence cross discussions and handover shall be paramount.
Support the provision of appropriate care and services to children and adolescents living with HIV and their families through mentorship, support supervision and monitoring the implementation of HIV and TB services among children and adolescents at the center. The officer will work directly with the hospital management team and develop action plans to improve service delivery and increase access to services for the clients.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Offering specialized pediatrics services to the clients at Sebbi hospital both as outpatient and inpatients
• Support supervision of medical officers and nurses involved in pediatric care service
Conducting continuous medical education to the medical teams of Sebbi Hospital in areas related to pediatrics care
• Coordinating pediatrics services with colleagues and managing referrals
• Developing and implementing management protocols in pediatrics care
• Supporting hospital management in laying strategies to improve and increase pediatrics care service at the facility
• Guide the immunization team and conduct new born assessment at birth and immunization
Support the implementation of National Pediatric TB/HIV policies and guidelines at facility

Requirements
• The ideal applicant must hold a master’s degree in pediatrics and bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
• Fully licensed by the UMDPC with a valid annual practicing license (newly qualified applicants are encouraged but must attach support documentations and recommendations from the University)
• A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in pediatrics care Key personal competences in pediatrics care, team management,communication skills, Persuasive and convincing, self-motivated and able to demonstrate high initiative.
• Experience in hospital based health care and managing infectious diseases shall be added advantage
