Staff Welfare Officer PostBank Uganda Ltd

REPORTS TO: Manager HR Shared Services

Job Purpose
• The Job holder will be responsible to implement initiatives that establish and maintain good relationships among staff to increase and maintain employee commitment, satisfaction, and productivity in line with the HR policies and the Bank’s strategy

Key Responsibilities /Key Deliverables
• Manage and monitor an internal Bank wellbeing system that ensures all employees receive the support and counselling services that they need to have a conducive working environment to enhance staff performance.
• Develop, implement, administer and monitor employee wellness programmes including health, leave management, occupational health and safety any other programme required by law and/or the Bank.
• Track, develop and manage HR policies and procedures that comply with local employment laws and regulations HR policy changes and implement updates to procedures.
• Manage employee relations issues, including disciplinary action, grievances, and conflict resolution in line with the Bank’s HR policy and the Uganda Labour Laws.
• Manage relationships with the HR service providers to monitor provision of employee service needs and ensure compliance with service provider terms of reference and the Banks HR policies.
• Oversee employee benefits administration, including health and life insurance, retirement plans, provident fund, gratuity, and other employee benefits programs.
• Ensure timely preparation of annual leave plans, monitor compliance, and maintain up to date annual leave data in HRIS for business decision making.
• Stay up to date on HR trends, best practices, and changes in employment laws and regulations, and communicate relevant information to the organization’s leadership team.
• Coordinate Bank-wide sports and Teambuilding administrative framework, Corporate League, and Bankers’ Gala activities in line with the approved budget

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Required
• Bachelor of Human Resources Management, Organisational and industrial psychology, or related field.
• A Post Graduate qualification in Human Resources is an added advantage
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in handling Personnel relations and welfare.
• Sound Understanding of Ugandan labour laws and HR best practices
• The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is essential
• Ability to demonstrate positive image and role model PBU’s values and leadership behaviours.
• A sense of ownership and pride in performance and its impact on the company’s success
• Ability to understand business needs.
• Must be a person of impeccable integrity
