Technical Coach War Child Holland (WCH)

The objective of the job
To support Partners in planning and rolling out TeamUp in identified schools/ locations.

Coordinate TeamUp trainings;

• selection of trainers from the pool of ToTs
• Support training of partner staff.
• Support in tracking the certification processes for facilitators and trainers.
• Conduct quality visits to partner staff to ensure adherence to quality standards;
• All facilitators are trained on methodology.
• Tool kits are being used by facilitators.
• There is adherence to fidelity checklists and daily attendance tracking.
• Development of mentorship and coaching plans.
• Coordinates and monitors the mentorship of facilitators and trainers in locations.
• Conducting feedback meetings with facilitators/teachers.
• Monthly/Quarterly feedback sessions are being conducted with children.
• Children with additional MHPSS and other needs are being referred to the appropriate service providers.

To ensure WCH scaling plan is updated by;
• Tracking changes in rollout of Teamup by partners.
• Tracking Innovations by partners.
• Tracking lessons learnt during implementation.
• Conduct awareness raising on the TeamUp methodology at various levels.
• Participate in consortium Coordination meetings.
• Support in documenting stories of change with support from WCH Country office.
• Provide weekly updates, monthly and quarterly reports on the TeamUp implementation.

Skills and competencies:
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Works & Administration/ Mental Health or any other relevant degree
• Experience in coaching and mentorship of staff.
• Must be child-friendly, act in the best interest of the child and be physically active
• Good social and communication skills including the ability to participate actively in movement-based activities according to TeamUp methodology and implementation standards.
• Demonstratable experience in working with large and small groups of children.
• Planning, implementation and time management skills.
• Experience in planning, conducting and implementing structured recreational activities for children (dance, sport, and games).
• Should be flexible, able to maintain a clear overview and capable of facilitating activities in a child-friendly manner.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to speak at least one of the following languages: Kiswahili, Kinyabwisha, Runyankole, kigegere. Knowledge of additional languages will be of advantage.
• Ability to understand, speak and write English.
• Understanding of Child Safety and have a clean criminal record.
Additional
• A university qualification in sport or social work is a plus.
• First Aid certificate is a plus
• Experience in identification and referral for MHPSS is an added value
• Knowledge of Teamup is an added value.
