Job Summary: The Driver / Warehouse Assistant reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for safely transporting cargo from one location to another as required by the business. He or she is responsible for the maintenance of his vehicle, and he or she drives in a way that safeguards the safety and security of his passengers and other road users when executing deliveries. The Driver / Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the proper documentation of all cargo of movements and ensuring proper handover at the point of destination. He or she supports other warehouse operations when not executing deliveries.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vehicle in good mechanical condition and take care of the vehicle’s cleanliness.
  • Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements (registration, insurance, driving license, etc.) are met before driving.
  • Drive assigned vehicle in accordance with local regulations and ENGIE Energy Access’ guidelines.
  • At the point of loading, verify stock against delivery note and record any discrepancy.
  • At destination, work with receiver to confirm delivery note and document handover.
  • Provide all signed delivery notes to Inventory Officer.
  • Assist in the loading and offloading of stock.
  • Support other warehouse activities including but not limited to inventory movements, receipt of returned items, repairs, and refurbishment.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Hold a clean and valid driver’s license
  • Proven experience as a Driver
  • Clean driving record
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Language(s): English
